1907 Color Print House Jacques Coeur Bourges France Medieval Herbert XGLA2 XGVC6 Pilling & SonThis is an original 1907 color print of a watercolor by English artist Herbert Marshall which depicts the magnificent residence of French merchant Jacques Coeur. He was made Master of the Mint in 1436 by King Charles VII, a high honor. Although a brilliant merchant, he created a monopoly on a variety of different trade goods, and became so wealthy that nobleman were coming to him for money instead of the Crown. As a result, he had a lot of enemies.
