The Smiths' self titled debut album, was released in February 1984, following the success of several early singles, including "Hand in Glove" and "This Charming Man". The debut was an immediate commercial success. It peaked in the UK Albums Chart at number two and remained there for 33 weeks. A European tour followed, marked by a series of
