Leighton stitched two ruled pages together in order to fully capture all of Uncle Sam's new buildings in Bangor Maine, which he did quite wonderfully I think, with careful attention to all the windows and doors, down to the the tassels and loops hanging from the shades in the bay windows of the house. A quick google search turns up that Vernon went on to become a composer, with works including "A Soldier's Dream," published
