but as they are of the same ilk--both made in the Soviet Union in the 1930s or so--and seem well suited to one another

6 3/4" tall x 5 " (leg to leg) x 4 1/4" from end of handle to bracket

which I am really loving for their finely etched designs

1830 British playing cards (a complete deck goes for $500 or so) but it's not surprising that over the past nearly 200 years some have been lost

I take it to be a lush red poppy (my personal favorite flower) from which this little girl is peeking out her head, which makes it seem a bit like an Opium fueled vision! Sent by a Dieterich to an Elizabeth Burmann in 1910, along with the news that Dieterich was not feeling well and the Rich Boatman's wife was dead! 5 5 8" x 3 5 8" and in great antique condition.
