This is a lovely example of a 2nd Pattern Brown Bess Bayonet which is well marked on the socket H 37 indicating issue to Company H of the 37th Regiment of Foot, which fought during the Jacobite Rebellion & the American Revolutionary War. The bayonet is also marked with a Crown over 5 inspection mark, indicating production during 1740 1760, which puts it in the perfect timeframe for Revolutionary War issue. The socket
