It is a piece of white circular fabric with a printed dyed black NSDAP swas emblem, which looks to have been sewn onto a flag originally. It was cut off in 1944 by USGIs as they advanced into France, and is marked as follows: SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE AUGUST
