evincing the sun or a rainbow and turning the whole plate into a landscape

so that I'd see it morning and night

Birch Bark Antique Lidded Box with Leather Pull shoe bowl The stain on this oneThis is a wonderful old birch bark box with a great form and patina, and wonderful scalloped edges around the bark of the exterior, which is wrapped around the box and nicely tucked in at the end. A leather pull on the top with scalloped edge matches. I believe this box would have been used to store tobacco, and I have seen very similar examples described as Native American, primarily dating to the mid to late 19th century.
