Antique Kindergarten Paper Weaving in Greens small John Moakley vase and appears to show remnantsA lovely example of a late 19th early 20th c. kindergarten woven paper "beauty form" using Froebel's 14th Gift weaving papers. Celadon green paper woven into darker green, and mounted to tan. For Froebel, paper weaving was a means of teaching "counting, progression, method, composition, planning and creativity" [Norman Brosterman, Inventing Kindergarten] as well as, perhaps most importantly, color. 5 1 16" x 4 3 8", very good condition.
