Now this is a spectacular example of a rather rare shoulder sleeve insignia for the 9th Air Force. The SSI is a French made example and constructed entirely out of colored glass beads aside from the gauze like backing in which the beads were woven into. The 9th Air Force shoulder sleeve insignia was approved by the US Quartermaster General on 16 September 1943. The patch is in wonderful condition and does not appear
