This is great example of the very hard to find Springfield Model 1898 KragJrgensen Saddle Carbine. Unlike most examples, this was not upgraded later to 1902 standards, and also it was not fitted with a saddle ring as most were (See Flayderman's Guide to Antique Firearms).
