A bronze cross, with swords between the arms, the obverse centre presents the letter W in Gothic script, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves, the twelve oclock arm bears the crown, the six oclock arm bears the date 1915, the reverse centre presents the inscription KRIEGS VERDIENST (WAR MERIT),surrounded by a border of oak leaves, measuring 44. 18 mm (w) x 48. 47 mm (h), on loop for suspension from
