Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, overlaid by a central eagle on a hollow background flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a depressed barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C. E.
